How It All Started
In this first post on the blog, we would like to introduce you to the people behind Tranquilladria. The company Tranquilladria was founded by Gregor and Tina, a Slovene couple in love with the island of Hvar. Our very friendly villa manager helps us on-site. Together, we wish to bring these experiences to you, our dear guests.
Mystical Pitve
Our love affair with the island of Hvar began more than two decades ago, when we first visited this lovely island. Even though most of our childhood summers were spent on lovely Croatian coasts, Hvar held the most special place among them. The special scent of pine trees and sea salt always takes away our worries of a fast-paced modern life.
When we first came here as a family with our daughter, we loved the feeling of calmness and tranquillity, the numerous beaches to explore and lovely meals shared in inviting taverns across the island. For us, Hvar is never boring, whether we are in the mood to go to the same beach ten days in a row or if we feel more adventurous and want to explore a new restaurant every other day or wander around on stone streets of Stari Grad, established more than 2000 years ago. We were always impressed by the stone buildings, lovely courtyards and churches in the towns of Jelsa, Stari Grad, and last but not the least in the eponymous Hvar town. Taking a taxi boat to the Pakleni islands or even to the gorgeous Blue cave on Komiža could be done on the spur of the moment.
A couple of years ago we wanted to find a place to call our own on the island. As we started looking for a family second home, the two villas, Anouk and Belpur, presented themselves as an obvious choice for exploring the island further. Their location has turned out to be a perfect starting point to get to both sides of the island and enjoy our favorite spots with our family and friends. This blog was created with the idea to share these experiences also with our guests.
